Another finish and a not quite!

I’m pleased to announce that Blanket 5, that’s Funfetti HotchPotch, is now finished.

After a lot of consideration I decided to add no more colour so settled with Raspberry and Storm Blue. Two more rounds of Mushroom Granny stitch and then a final round of a corrupted V-Stitch. Quick and easy.

So what now? Well, you may remember that at the beginning of the year all we had to worry about was the palaver that was Brexit. It dominated the news and it was impossible to get away from it a bit like Covid! If you take a look here you may remember that I started a 100 day blanket to look at the day rather than negotiations etc. This was how each day was to be interpreted.

The interpretation could be fairly loose, and it was.

Well, all squares were finished but by May I had no inclination to finish it so the finished squares have been languishing in a bag. I decided now is the time to finish and get it out of the way.

Each square was finished with Parchment and the intention had been to use this as the joining colour. However, having used it successfully on another blanket recently I have decided to use again Hayfield Bonus DK in 0987 (and I have discovered it does have a name – Starling)

I’m halfway to finishing in the photo above you can see it next to the other ‘starling’ finish.

I don’t know about you, but I’m finding this lockdown much harder. I have no inclination to do any of the urgent things that are piling up. I really needed a pick me up. Well, one arrived yesterday, four weeks earlier than expected! Our first great-grandson was born. Grandson is delighted too as you can expect. Mother and babe still in hospital but doing well. Below is the blanket I made for him over the summer, you’ve seen it before but here it is again. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I can see him wrapped in it, and maybe even give him a cuddle…
