I’ve just had a week of visual delights! Another trip to Norway is something we have been promising for a very long time. We finally made it!
I’ll probably share a few pictures from time to time – but today I’m catching up on a little rest and emails. They certainly fill the inbox while away.
You’ll be pleased to know that I managed to find some yarn shops – in Stavanger and Bergen. There is even one on Bergen Railway station!
I’ll catch you up with progress and more in a few days. In the meantime – enjoy the above.
It has been a long while since I have been away for several weekends at a time, but I am off again on Saturday, this time spending time with family. Just a few days, with crochet time in the evening.
Last weekend was spent with a friend who has an amazing studio. This is just a corner.
We worked on several projects including rusting some fabrics
This photo was taken at the start of the process. By the time left there were some interesting marks forming. I also did some stitching, I’ll show you that another day but the bit that really pleased me was that I was able to complete this border
Nikki and I are part of a small textile group named ‘We Three’ (no prizes for guessing how many members there are). We have known each other and worked together for a long time. We have a little project ‘boiling away’ at the moment. I’ll let you know about it when we have more details. If you are on Instagram you may like to follow Nikki. She is very talented and very new to Instagram.
Just disappearing for the weekend this time. I’m off to work with a friend using fabric, threads and, of course, yarn! We will also be working on her new website.
I’m taking some of my hand dyed fabrics and threads, and also some crochet. This will come back finished
and I will also be working on this for a time
Aren’t they glorious colours? Cygnet yarns again- Boho Spirit in Folk. The first one is the same yarn but the Chic colourway
Have a great weekend- whatever you are doing
I ran out of time to finish my stress buster and had no room for it in my suitcase. However, this grew magically while I spent some time with our daughter
I have written elsewhere about our little trip, but progress on the above was so good that I have started this while I consider the border
Both are Cygnet Yarns Boho. Chic is the first colourway and Folk the second. Production will slow down for a while as time will be short for several days but the trip did me so much good and I feel more rested than I have for a very long time.
Today I’m planning on returning to my main project. It’s been hanging fire for a while as I wanted to keep it under wraps while I was away from home with its intended recipient.
Returning to an Ocean theme is appropriate as I have just spent four days on the water.
Blue seas and blue skies – and we weren’t that far from home! I managed a little crochet – but have to admit that it was only three rows on the red herring.
They have both reached approximately the same stage, now the pink and cream will have to wait. Look – I’m all set up and ready to rumble!
Texture, to stimulate both the sense of touch and sight is very important to me. The gallery shows just a few of those that I live with each day…… there are hundreds more….!

Tea time passes without recognition….. Coffee, however, is celebrated with peace and solitude 😉
