Gather all the pieces you have stitched.
Cut them into strips
Cut each strip into several pieces
Sort the scraps into random collections
Stack them ready for the next stage
Cut another piece of water-soluble fabric – slightly larger than the first.
Continue to use a zigzag stitch and the same thread as before
Start in the middle and stich the random squares onto the backing
Piece and patch – no need to worry if the patches are different sizes

I had a couple of squares or so left over – that’s a good sign. I might need them during the next stage.
