Time to use those extra squares. Time to use those extra squares.

If you hold the stitching up to the light once you have stitched to the above stage you will be able to see any big gaps in the yarn. The surface doesn’t need to be densely covered – gaps are good – but big holes aren’t. Use the extra squares to cover them.

This next stage is optional. Instead of continuing to stitch with the machine now I decided to use a couple of hand threads to make big holding stitches.

I’ve left the ends loose – and just held down the odd additions at the corners.

The next stage is to stitch again all over again with the machine – it won’t take long as the main work was done earlier. Then it’s time for ‘Magic’.
