Five Colour Friday

Today’s Five Colour Friday has a definite Autumnal feel.

Five colours from the Stylecraft Special DK range. They go together very well – with just a little splash of contrast to bring the combination alive.

Together they make a particularly striking blanket.

Lobelia, Citron, Spice, Copper and Tomato

Tomato makes a lovely joining colour. If you want to vary the position of the colours a total of 120 different combinations is possible. They will make a stunning blanket whichever style or stitch you use – maybe a corner to corner, or a ripple blanket. Vary the placement or use in rotation.

Don’t forget, let me know if you use the combination and use the hashtag #nuvofeltfivecolours  If you make use of it I hope you will let me know either below or on instagram.   You can find all posts in this series via this link.

Five Colour Friday

I really enjoyed working with these colours. They remind me of spring – but also have an autumnal feel.

Five colours will enable 120 different blocks to be made if you don’t want to make them all the same. This handy list will help you to do this.

They are pretty striking as a single colourway too

Stylecraft Special DK Aspen, Mustard, Cypress, Shrimp, Cloud Blue,

This occasional series is very popular. If you make use of it I hope you will let me know either below or on instagram. Use the new hashtag – #nuvofeltfivecolours  You can find all posts via this link.

Five Colour Friday

It’s been a while since the last Five Colour Friday. This wasn’t intentional, but travels made it a little difficult to post. Make sure you read on if you like a bargain.

Sometimes a gentle and quiet colour-scheme is all that’s needed.

Five colours for Five Colour Friday!

Stylecraft Special DK in Cloud Blue, Sage, Sherbet, Wisteria and Candyfloss

Make a cushion – a blanket – even a Poncho!

The more Grannies you make, the better the effect.

Five Colour Friday

Five colours can be used in a number of ways…..

For a change I thought I’d try making blocks in alternate colours and use a unifying colour for the border. Here’s the result:

For this experiment I used the Posy Square that I’ve written about previously.

Alternating blocks becomes more effective as the size grows

And it can become as large, or stay as small, as you wish

So, which colours have I used?

Stylecraft Special DK in Tomato, Cypress, Sage and Copper. They are joined with Camel

I have to admit that Stylecraft have a very good range of colours in their Special DK range. It’s an acrylic yarn – but a good quality acrylic that washes well. Deramores sell the whole range – including the new colours that I have yet to use. Use the link and take a look around – I’m sure you’ll find something of interest.

I hope you enjoy this series, and that you find it useful. You can follow me on Instagram as CrochetalongwithNuvofelt, and I’m here on Ravelry. Find me on Facebook via the link in the sidebar. Drop in and say ‘Hi’.

Five Colour Friday

Five colour Friday is here again, and I think that I have found my most favourite red!

These colours go so well together – and would make a beautiful blanket. Simply using a simple repeated block would be stunning

But don’t forget that you can make 120 different colour combinations using just these five colours. Details of this can be found here

As for this delicious yarn – it’s by Deramores

Burnt Orange, Fuchsia, Raspberry, Ruby and Wine

Worth going over to have a look especially as they often have very good offers, and always reward purchases.
