100 Rainbow Squares Throw

Materials:

1 ball each of Stylecraft Special DK in Spice, Lipstick, Meadow, Plum, Lobelia and Sunshine.

4 balls of Midnight in the same yarn

I used a 4.50 mm hook.

The blanket is made with three round single colour granny squares, each edged with one round of midnight. Using an easy join as you go technique the sequence of colours is listed below. Ten rows of ten squares are then edged with full rounds of midnight.

I have used a simple double crochet into each space interspersed with three chain for joining the squares. It is quick, but also creates an interesting texture in the finished throw. Other joining methods could also be used.

The throw is finished with rounds of three treble blocks, to echo the granny squares. I suggest a minimum of six rounds to create a sense of balance.
