Gone …

And never to return!

It’s been a busy week. Somehow it’s slipped by while we have been busy doing nothing!

Our granddaughter was 12 this week, but due to circumstances we weren’t able to see her. All being well that will happen later today. Packages are wrapped and ready for delivery. She now qualifies for a Covid vaccination and that was administered this morning. I’ve spent odd moments working on a couple of projects, and you may have seen something of them on INSTAGRAM .

Firstly my daily block for March #simplythirtysquares

It has been so grey this week. Dull and often wet. I’m glad I chose to be colourful. These squares are very slightly larger than before, and take longer, not just due to the size, but also as more ends have to be woven in. As before this is completed at the end of each square – and they are joined into strips as I go.

The first strip is complete. I’ve chosen Royal blue to join – and each square is made totally from scraps as intended. It’s a pleasure to see them used, but there doesn’t appear to be much extra space in their ‘collection’ box.

Now these squares weren’t made from scraps

And neither were these!

I’ve been collecting them over the past few weeks, and now the time has come to reveal an almost completed project.

I began joining a week ago.

Gradually it’s come together and today I joined the last strip.

Tonight I will start the border.

There are 28 colours including Tomato which was also used for joining.

Once this is finished I’ll start another, that’s if I have enough Cream … I want that for the joining, and I don’t want to buy any more yarn yet …

On a completely different, and far less trivial note, if you are thinking of making a donation to a Ukraine aid charity you may like to consider this one. https://gofund.me/bbac300c. It is associated with our daughter’s church in Cardiff.

Oh definitely that time is going faster and faster. We’re both spring chickens even if sometimes we don’t feel like that 😆
