The verse* we learnt at school popped into my mind at the end of last month and a plan formed!
Thirty days – a square a day – one 6 x 5 blanket!
And so it began! I chose six colours of Stylecraft Special DK (seven including the joining colour, and it began.
- Spice
- Tomato
- Shrimp
- Pomegranate
- Copper
- Blush and
- Parchment to join.

The layout was determined before I started this time, so the squares were made and joined in sequence. The border is plain and simple – just to finish the experiment. If you want to make something similar Two balls of Parchment were needed, and approximately 40g of each of the other colours.

Yes! It needs washing and blocking – and I’m going to repeat the experiment next month. The finished blanket needs to be a little larger, so there will be a tiny variation.
Colours for next month? Not yet decided but I’m sure I can find something 😉
