Monday is almost here, and the first of 100 granny squares will be made. I’ve auditioned a few colours, and these are my first choice
However, this isn’t a sample of the intended first square, rather an experiment to see how they look together.
The above colours are:
- Lipstick
- Spice
- Sunshine
- Meadow
- Lobelia
- Midnight and
- Plum
The colours aren’t a strict rainbow combination, but they do work well together. I was tempted to use this selection:
- Matador
- Tomato
- Saffron
- Lincoln
- Lapis
- Denim
- Magenta
These would work equally well, and I may yet be tempted to mix and match. The beauty of a #crochetalong like this is that there is plenty of scope for personal interpretation which means that each will have its own identity.
Pastels will work too, but to my surprise I don’t seem to have many of these in my current collection of yarns! All colours mentioned above are from the Stylecraft yarns range of Special DK and if you need some there is a good collection at DERAMORES or THE KNITTING NETWORK
Don’t forget to post your pictures and follow along on Instagram.
