March so far!

The TEMPERATURE BLANKET continues. Three days per square – with highs and lows both featured.

March has seen less ice than February, but temperatures no higher

I had forgotten that there wasn’t a February update – the two first strips can be seen above. Not yet joined, I’m leaving the completed strips until the final layout is decided. Although February was a very cold month at times, temperatures were also very warm spring-like at times.

As always the first square of a strip is marked by a tag. I won’t forget which month is which!

Pick me up and Put me down Blanket

On Monday I shared the MINGLE MANGLE scrap blanket

It’s a ‘Slow’ project – but fun and an intermission from deadlines etc. However, there is more than one way to peel an orange! 😉

Each new project produces ‘leftovers’. These might be anything from just a few inches to several grams. That several grams may be enough to go towards another project but more often than not it’s just another ball in the oddments bin.

Meanwhile, maybe, stash grows and grows – because there is TEMPTATION EVERYWHERE

So what I needed was a project that used both! And I think I have found the answer.

Linen stitch; Moss stitch – call it what you will, it’s just a UK Double crochet and a chain repeated ad infinitum!

More details will follow!

Mingle-Mangle

I’m not sure that I’ve updated you on THIS BLANKET for quite a while, so I thought I’d show you some of the progress.

This blanket will be full of memories when it’s finally finished. Scraps left from a multitude of projects are included.

The centre of each square is a two round single colour.

I’ve wound lots of balls just big enough to make one square. Details in the video.

Similar combinations occur – but nothing is identical.

Winding balls is a gentle relaxing process.

Nothing is yet joined – it’s definitely a slow work in progress.

There’s no sound to the video – it won’t disturb your thought process.
