What a month!
May has definitely been a month of swinging from ups to downs and back up again. This was mostly due to bronchitis which, I have to say, hit me quite hard.
At one point I doubted that I would be able to keep to the schedule of a square a day for the May blanket. I did, but then there was the ‘panic’ ‘will there be enough yarn?’ Phew! Yes! Just ….!

At the beginning of the month we went on a short trip to Wales. Travelling by train meant that luggage was restricted but yarn was essential. The daily yarn went, and so too did some scrap balls ‘just in case’. I was able to make a start on these on the journey when a couple fell, mysteriously, out of my handbag on the train.

The middle of the month was very unproductive. Daily does it continued but it was an effort. Antibiotics helped but it took longer than I would have liked to bounce back. I was just impatient. After a couple of weeks I was back in production and even inspired to begin a third blanket!
So, where are we now?

Blanket number 3 finished in 6 days.

A square a day blanket finished and bordered (finished last night)
The scraps blanket should be finished later today. Just the border to finish.

This has been nicknamed ‘The Smile Blanket‘ by a friend. It hasn’t photographed well this morning. All from scraps!
So May did result in a bit of productivity, but there was also a lot of interest on Instagram for this blanket which was finished a while ago.

So, I’ve revisited my notes and the link below will give you more information. It was a really fun make. It now lives a long way away, and I know it’s loved!
Nasturtium Blanket Information
Tomorrow another daily square blanket begins in the #simplythirtysquares series. I think I know where I’m going, but need to find another colour before I make up my mind.
