Inspiration pops up when you least expect. The important thing is to keep your eyes open, and constantly take in your surroundings. The inspiration for today’s Five Colour Friday comes from our garden.
It’s been an interesting autumn this year. We didn’t have the flames and bronzes that usually occur, instead the trees and shrubs gave us glorious golds and rusts, stunning, but unexpected. However, finally, one of the shrubs has turned from green and gold to this.
The photograph doesn’t do it justice, but it was enough to set the creative juices flowing.
The thing about inspiration is that the source doesn’t have to be represented in its entirety – or in fact accurately. It inspires something….. and this is what the above inspired:

If you want to vary the position of the colours a total of 120 different combinations is possible. They will make a stunning blanket whichever style or stitch you use – maybe a corner to corner, or a ripple blanket. Vary the placement or use in rotation.
