Five Colour Friday

Inspiration pops up when you least expect. The important thing is to keep your eyes open, and constantly take in your surroundings. The inspiration for today’s Five Colour Friday comes from our garden.

It’s been an interesting autumn this year. We didn’t have the flames and bronzes that usually occur, instead the trees and shrubs gave us glorious golds and rusts, stunning, but unexpected. However, finally, one of the shrubs has turned from green and gold to this.

The photograph doesn’t do it justice, but it was enough to set the creative juices flowing.

The thing about inspiration is that the source doesn’t have to be represented in its entirety – or in fact accurately. It inspires something….. and this is what the above inspired:

In contrast to the last collection this is a more gentle autumn colourscheme,

If you want to vary the position of the colours a total of 120 different combinations is possible. They will make a stunning blanket whichever style or stitch you use – maybe a corner to corner, or a ripple blanket. Vary the placement or use in rotation.

These are again from the easily obtainable Stylecraft Special DK range of colours:

Buttermilk, Camel, Vintage Peach, Blush and Pomegranate.

Don’t forget, let me know if you use the combination and use the hashtag #nuvofeltfivecolours  If you make use of it I hope you will let me know either below or on instagram.   You can find all posts in this series via this link.
