… quietly waiting in the wings (and in need of a lot more work).
Little did I imagine that a Temperature Blanket would be the gateway to inspiration! It was intended to be a record of the seasons from December to November, but the project has turned into something much bigger.
You will remember that I showed you October at the end of the month, the block finished, but waiting to be incorporated into the blanket with those of the other months. I haven’t started that yet, I’m planning on leaving it until the Spirit of November is finished – and that isn’t even started yet. The above shows the daily spread of temperatures, and some were repeated more than once, as you can imagine, while others only occurred once. This was the pattern for all the months, so I decided that yet another blanket would materialise, showing the temperatures with slightly more emphasis.
I didn’t begin this until just a couple of months ago, so have worked just 5 months so far, but it does give a better idea of how the temperatures have ranged. I’m calling it ‘Sprit of the Seasons’.
These squares are complete, to a degree, but, as you will see from the next photo, they are different sizes.
The colours in the middle represent those temperatures that occurred least during the month with the outside edge showing the one that occurred most. It isn’t very easy to see in the collage above – clicking on individual pictures may help.
I’m already inspired to keep going – but in a different way for next month. It’s a secret for now, but November is already passing so quickly it won’t be long before it’s revealed!
