Temperature update and a heads up!

It doesn’t seem possible that my Temperature Blanket is almost done. Well, when I say ‘done’, I have to admit that there is quite a lot of joining to do, but the squares are currently up to date.

These are the last four days, but this morning we woke to our first frost, so I have to say that today seems as though it’s going to be a Wisteria sort of day!

I began the blanket on December 1st last year. I wanted to record the seasons rather than a calendar year – so I’m due to finish on the last day of November. However, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop, so I’m already thinking about what I’ll do this coming year. At least I’m giving it some thought this time. Last year I decided to go ahead right at the end of November. In truth, I hadn’t heard of a Temperature Blanket much before that. Would anyone like to join me for next year? If I get a positive response I’ll post more details. By the way, you don’t have to stick with crochet to keep this sort of record – you could knit, stitch, embroider or patch. I’ll give you ideas if you need them.

Our nasturtiums have been amazing this year. Having seen the frost I thought they might have withered this morning, but this one, and all the others, is still standing proud. The colours have ranged from Jaffa to Citron with a bit of Tomato, Plum and Copper thrown in. Don’t be surprised if you see a blanket in the making before this time next year.

By the way, if you are in need of yarn now is the time to buy it. Deramores have one of their lovely sales. I’ve already placed my order! If the cold weather continues I’ll need to make lots of blankets to keep me warm while I’m busy!
