Sliding towards August.

The sun is shining and warm as it comes through the window. The temperatures are set to rise … and our second summer looks as though it may make an appearance. Childhood Augusts were always warm and sunny (yes, really, I have good reason to remember) , but in recent years they have been cooler and somewhat overcast. I wonder what will come this year – especially as a result of the apparent lack of pollution.

July has been a month for sending cards. We had two birthdays, but this month cards have been needed for ‘well’ wishes and more. I usually make all my cards, but somehow Covid took away almost all my inclination. I have to say that I was relieved to be able to rely on TouchNote and my photographs to fill the gap. If you haven’t found them yet take a look.

And so – many of us move tentatively out of lockdown! Living in a shielded household has not been easy. It’s a good job I get on well with my husband! I have found solace in crochet, and his has been found in the garden

Of course the the moment edible fruit begins to appear is very exciting! This was the first reddening Tomato, since then we’ve had a few delicious salads with them.

As lockdown has ended we have actually ventured into the countryside. We avoided the nature reserve as it was apparently very busy, but we did find peace and quiet canal side. We also had some interesting skies – some with outrageous colour, but others more subtle and actually unexpected.

I’m still working on two projects, (well, 3 if you include #crochet6in366, but this is so much part of my daily routine that it almost doesn’t feel like an ongoing project). Blues in Twos is progressing well. I’m joining squares into strips as I go, but waiting to view them side by side before deciding on their actual placement. Just in case of readjustment the joining ends are still attached, all other ends are gone, and these won’t take long to weave in when the time comes

Dolly Mixtures, however, has evolved! I thought this might be the case which is why I was reticent about sharing too many details with you. The way will be much clearer next time I think.

Today’s square for #crochet6in366 is Clementine,Spice, Dandelion, Saffron, Citron, Mustard, Gold. The full current schedule was posted last week.

I dye. Colour is my business and I using a variety of materials. I also enjoy enabling other creatives to enjoy their art. Crochet is one of my current means of expression. Some of my blogs are kept as daily records. Take a look and you will see.
